of the Senators the qualifications of Poor[?] James
Bayore of Pictoria for the degree of J[?]J.[?] Hiers[?]
and also read the fo;;owing recommendations
signed by Hugh McLeod, D.D. minister of the Rev.
Septerian[?] Church [Sydney?] E.B. James Smith G.[?]J.[?]
S.J.P. Presbyterian College, Halifax, and W.L.
all L.L.D. Professor of Metaphysics and [?????]
Littres[?]. Dalhoudic[?] College, Halifax Provinces
of Nova Scotia, December 1864 having been
informed that some friends of the Reverend
and James Bayore Proctor of Prince Street Presby
teran Church Proctors intend soliciting the [???]
nation[?] of Queen's University Kingston Can
ada to confer on him the honerary degree
of [D.D.?] [?] beg leave to state that we are
quainted with Mr. Bayore's attainments as a
scholar and a minister of the gospel, and we
recommend him to the said Senators as in every
way worthy of receiving from them the contem
plated distinction." In view of the
above statement, and of other [tacternary?] [?????]
the Senators [both?] received[?] in favor of Mr. Bayore
it was unanimously agreed to recommend him
to the Senators for the degree of Doctor of D[?????
????].
