Frosting
[For] one egg & large spoonfuls of
sugar & one even teaspoonful of
cream tartar

Light brown sugar beaten with
the whites of egg make nice -
frosting
The whites & sugar put together & stirred
make nice smooth frosting.

Frosting without egg. 1 cup sugar
granulated or fine white. 5 Table spoons
of milk boil 4 or 5 minutes. stir until
cold - put on cold cake

Coffee Custard
1 Quart strong coffee 1 pint of milk
boil together 6 eggs beaten with 1 and 1/2 cup
sugar - cool in cups
Cornstarch in small quantity adds to [frosting]
