SATURDAY JANUARY 23 I spent the day at Mrs. Mann's and went to see Dad this afternoon. Mother and I will spend the night with Mrs. Mann. The ground is covered in ice, Agnes is going to stay with Dad for a while.

SUNDAY JANUARY 24 The ground is still covered in ice and it is raining today. We spent the day at Mrs. Mann's and went to see Dad in the afternoon. He went up stairs to see [?] & it made his worse. Mother and I spent the night at Mrs. Mann's.

MONDAY JANUARY 25 Mother and I went to the hospital this morning. Jim Slaton came after me. Rex is sick with the flu the back water is too unstable and still rising. The ground is still covered in ice. a train came by and the back water was over the [track?]

TUESDAY JANUARY Ray Slaton, Mr. Flinn & uncle [alonzo?] ate dinner with us and helped Dock make the coin. Earl spent the night with us. The water is still rising and in our garden.

WEDNESDAY JANUARY 27 Joseph & John Marion brought me to Jim's in a boat and I went to town with Joseph & Nora Lee & Evelyn. Joseph took me to uncle Rufe's. I went to see Dad. I spent the night at Jessis's. Ruby was there also.

THURSDAY JANUARY 28 I went to the hospital to see Dad. I spent the night at Jessie's.

FRIDAY JANUARY 29 Agnes called me & said she couldn't manage Dad. We brought Dad home this afternoon. Jim brought us to Mr. Stinnett and Mr. Vinse and Mr. Ashby brought us home as the roads were too bad for Jim's car. Mr. Ashby will stay with us.

SATURDAY JANUARY 30 Stayed at home all day. Edward Ashby came this morning. Dad is so any better.

SUNDAY JANUARY 31 Mr. Hartman came this morning. Dad is swelling again and not as well as usual.

MONDAY FEBRUARY 1 Dad was pretty sick last night. Mrs. Polley, Mrs. Ashby spent the day. Aubrey Polley & Mr. Hartman came also. Granvel Polley came tonight and will spend the night.

TUESDAY FEBRUARY 2 Mr. Hartman & Cecil Polley came this morning. Dad walked to Mr. Jess Ashby's. Mr. Hartman took me to town. Dad was tried for the Western State Hospital today & will be taken tomorrow. Mr. Ashby & I were witnesses & come back to mother's & will stay a few days.

WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 3 Stayed at home all day. Mr. Hartman came over a little while.

THURSDAY FEBRUARY 4 Mother & I went to town today. Frannie Mae talked awful to us over sending Dad away when we felt we had done the best we could. Rex came late this afternoon & will spend the night.

FRIDAY FEBRUARY 5 Rex spent the day and will spend the night. Mr. Jess Ashby came this afternoon. Mr. Hartman came also.

SATURDAY FEBRUARY 6 Rex went home this morning. Uncle Brock is 80 years old today. Nothing happened unusual.

SUNDAY FEBRUARY 7 Stayed at home all day. Mr. Hartman came this morning and Ocie came this afternoon.

MONDAY FEBRUARY 8 Mr. Tom Stone spent the day with us. The wind has been blowing all day. I wrote a letter to Rex. It rained late this afternoon and tonight.

TUESDAY FEBRUARY 9 Stayed at home all day. Nothing happened unusual. Ocie came this afternoon.

WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 10 Mr. Hartman, J.D and Amy Florance came this morning. It has been awful cold today. I wrote a letter to Rex. Mother got an awful sweet letter from Aunt Jennie.

THURSDAY FEBRUARY 11 Mother got a letter today from Hopkinsville saying Dad show no improvement.
