{Left-hand page} SUNDAY JANUARY 3 The sun has been shining but it is some cooler. Henry Bailey Walker came home with Dock last night & spen't the day with us. I got breakfast, dinner & have done the general house work. Earl came this morning. John Marion, Basil & June came also.

MONDAY JANUARY 4 The sun has been shining. I have done the general house work, wrote mother & worked on a pillar top. I we'nt to town with Sis after school. She is going to the doctor.

{Right hand page} TUESDAY JANUARY 5 It has been cloudy nearly all day & sprinkled rain. I have been nearly sick today. I stuck a nail in my foot. I wen't to town with Sis again today. She is going to Dr. Peacock. I read some tonight.

WEDNESDAY JANUARY 6 It as been cloudy & has rained some today & is raining tonight. I churned, got dinner & have done part of my ironing. I wen't to town with Sis again this afternoon. Basil & June came tonight. June, Rex, Basil, & I played Rook. Basil & I didn't win a single game.

{Left-hand page} THURSDAY JANUARY 7 The sun has been shining part of the day & the wind has been blowing. I finished ironing & have done the general house work. Mr. Merrill came this morning. Leona & Nealie came this afternoon. I went to town with Sis after school this afternoon.

FRIDAY JANUARY 8 I got a letter from mother yesterday & she says Dad is about the same. I wrote mother. I got another letter from mother today. It has been cloudy most of the day & the wind has been blowing. I cleaned up the house & have done the general house work & read some. Leona came this afternoon. Clarance James came tonight.

{Right hand page} SATURDAY JANUARY 9 It has rained all day & is turning colder. Rex, Dock & Sic went to town today. I got breakfast, cleaned up my room & the kitchen & worked on a piller top. Flectcher came this afternoon. June & Earl Junior came also. I read some tonight.

SUNDAY JANUARY 10 It rained a lot last night & rained some this morning. It has been cloudy today & colder & the water is freezing on the trees. Basil came this morning. Joseph, Amelia, Jim & Evelyn came this afternoon. I got breakfast, cleaned up my room & the kitchen & have read a good deal today and tonight and wote a letter to mother. It rained some tonight.

{Left hand page} MONDAY JANUARY 11 It has been cloudy all day and is warmer. I got dinner, washed a few pieces and chuned. Red Flinn & Earl Junior ate dinner with us. They are helping Dock put cinders on our lane.

TUESDAY JANUARY 12 I got dinner for 3 work hands. Albert and Edna came this afternoon. It has been cloudy all day. I ironed a few pieces this morning. It is sprinkling rain tonight.

{Right hand page} WEDNESDAY JANUARY 13 It has rained some today and the wind is blowing tonight. I washed a good many things and got dinner & supper. Jasper came twice today. Joseph & Jim came this afternoon. I read some tonight.

THURSDAY JANAURY 14 It has rained today and is raining tonight. I got dinner & ironed and cleaned up the house today. Cousin Will Wilsome came this afternoon. Amelia came a little while also. I read some tonight. I wrote mother tonight.

FRIDAY JANUARY 15 The sun has been shining part of the day & it is colder. I haven't felt so well today. I got dinner and supper & cleaned up the house. I got a letter from mother. I have read a good deal today and tonight.

SATURDAY JANUARY 16 Rex and I came to town this afternoon and I had a wisdom tooth pulled. We got word that Dad is real sick so Rex and I went down there. We hung up at Mr. France Utley's & had to walk the rest of the way. Mr. Stone and Mr. Jess Ashby were there also.

SUNDAY JANUARY 17 Rex went home this morning. Dad has been real sick tonight and it rained so much that I couldn't get across the ditch to let Mr. Hartman know so Mr. Stone, Mother and I had to stay with him until morning.His mind is bad & he tore up his clothes.

MONDAY JANUARY 18 We called Rex and he came this morning & Mr. Ashby came. We had Dr. Finley with Dad and he wated to take him to the hospital so I guess we will take him tomorrow. Evertte Johnson & Mr. Parrish came tonight. Mr. Ashby, Mr. Stone and Rex all spend the night.

TUESDAY JANUARY 19 We brought Dad to the hospital today in Rex car. The roads were real bad but we didn't hang up. Dad stood the trip real well. I stayed with him today and Rex stayed part of the day. I went home tonight. Kathryn and Rudell will stay with Dad.

WEDNESDAY JANUARY 20 It has rained today. I got dinner and Rex and I came to town this afternoon and I went home with Mrs. McGary and ate supper. I spent the night with Dad. It rained all day and is raining tonight. It rained as mother couldn't come to town today.

THURSDAY JANUARY 21 Mother came this morning and we spent the day with Dad and went to Jessie's this afternoon and spent the night. It is still raining and turning colder. Clyde stayed with Dad tonight.

FRIDAY JANUARY 22 Lin brought us to the hospital and we spent the day with Dad. Mother went to Mrs. McGary's and Fred's and I spent the night at Mrs. Mann's. We got a nurse to stay with Dad tonight.
