Dear Dr Van Waters May Mothers Day in the past, I have had the pleasure of being with you & your Students on Mothers Day. Fond memories I gather when the dusk of evening closes about praying that you & yours are well above all, that Framingham is once again reigning in happy days.

Sept 18 1951

Dear Dr Van Waters I pray that you were not heaped in work & disturbed because I called.

Lonely was I & just had to see if you were well. Mrs Ripley was here to visit & she is a true Ranger & devoted friend of Framingham. My heart was in despair until knowing that you were still to remain in Framingham. The picture I am enclosing of Bishop Lock brings back to mind the

[writing on left hand side] evening he addressed the Student Body Dr Van Waters , here at Long Island they have connected with the Chapel a Broadcasting System which is Amplyfied to all shut in. Wouldn't it be wonderful if the same could be done at Framingham so the Hospital shut ins could benefit in all services & all activities held in the Chapel.

My thoughts are always with you & Framingham. I maybe not the writing Student Dear Dr - to share in your kindness yet, I do try to do all I can to follow in the steps of a true Ranger. Last evening I walked over to the Chapel & lit a Vigil Candle before the Statue of the Lady & offered my prayers in memory of a

great Lady Mother Van Waters It must be wonderful to have the Students go to Hilltop again. Give my best to little Ralphie & Susan also Miss Glading & Mrs Badger The stockings your girls make in the knitting room certainly are made. They never run. Dr Truie the Staff Doctor here just passed by & he states that I am coming along great 113 pds pd How if I keep on gaining Ill need to diet. Mrs Castle is still active God Bless her - still likes her Bananas, if sometime you should think of me - please drop me a line.

Sept 25 1951 Long Island Hospital Boston, Mass

My Dear Dr Van Waters Your Generous gift & beautiful card arrived this A.M & I am more that grateful to you. Just the card alone would have been enough knowing that we are still Rangers makes me very happy.

Dr Abraham Mycross Son who is making a study on Alcoholics Dr have - Staff Dr asked me a few weeks ago if I would care to see him & I readily agreed - when I thought he had forgotten about it, I reminded him & he told me that Dr Mycross comes down from New Hampshire every so often. So yesterday - He come over & had a talk with me - I stated just how I felt & such. He in return told me that I should continue with Hospital work - where I also will be supervised - he wanted to know from my observation here how many Women alcoholics be down here
