tend to reduce the coal bills especially for these buildings. The Physical and Chemical instruments having been allowed to go on to run down without any additional supplies being ordered it has become an imperitive necessity to do something in this direction, hence it is thought that as much at least, as $500 should expend in this direction There are still other demands in the [shape?] of settlements, but the known lack of funds prevents the [request?] Very truly Alx Hogg, st

The Fort Worth Union Passenger Station Co.

HIRAM A. JOHNSON Ticket Agent. BEN T. SCOTT. Asst. Ticket Agent.

G. C. & S. FE RY H. & T. C. R. R.

Fort Worth, Tex., Sept 16th 1903

To the Hon Mayor and City Council of Ft Worth Ft Worth

Gentlemen

As my duties in charge of my work around the depot demand the authority of an officer and very often compelled to let trespasser &c. [have?] their way on account of not being rested with the proper authority.

I would consider it a great favor indeed if you can consistently do so to appoint me as special officer without pay which will allow me to protext the interest entrusted in to my core.

Thanking you in advance & hoping this will receive your earliest attention.

I am yours very truly Hiram A Johnson

We your Finance Com recommend that the lost coupons referred to in the within bond be paid.

We do not however believe that the bond is collectible in Texas and for that reason is unsafe [security?] but inasmuch as the amount involved is small and that the coupons have been lost of rsome time and have not been presented for payment, that these would be but little risk in the citys part in paying over the amount
