To the Honorable Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the City of Fort Worth:
We, the undersigned citizens and tax-payers of the City of Fort Worth, and proerty owners and residents on West Fifth Street in said city, respectfully represent unto your Honorable Body:
(1) That portion of West Fifth Street west of the junction of Second Street and east ofFahey Street is from three to five free lower than the property fronting on said street.
(2) A further loweringof the portion of West Fifth Street above mentioned, would greatly depreciate the value of the property adjacent thereto, without a corresponding benefit to the City.
(3) In our opinion, thecost of filling up West Fifth Street at or about the point where same is intersected by Fahey Street would not be greater than further lowering the gradeof West Fifth Street west of the junction ofSecond Street with it and easy Fahey Street.
For the above reasons,we respectfully protest against any further lowering of the grade of West Fifth Street between the points mentioned; but request that you fill in and improve the lower portion of Fifth Street.

Hon W. D. Harris Mayor Fort Worth Texas
Dear Sir:
We have about completed the work of revising and codifying the ordinance of the City and are ready to begin furnishing copy to the printer.
We beg to suggest to you that the ordinances regulating "fivre Limits" and "Hack Stands" are in very bad shape and it seems to us that as it is almost impossible to reconcile and arrange the existing ordinances, on these things, so as to define the exact boundaries as they now exist. The new ordinances is passed at [?] [pro..?] moment can be inserted in and revisions without cost of advertisting in the paper.

Returned for Filing Hawley CE
Mr Jake Zurn Alderman 8th Ward
Dear Sir:-
I phoned Mr Hawley, City Engineer yesterday in regard to condition of alley behind my home situated 1308 Eighth Ave. he advised me he would take a note of my complaint but did not state any remedy would be applied.
I now wish to put my complaint in writing and must insist on immediate action by city, or I shall be completed to take legal steps to have matter satisfactorily asjusted.
When I built my home the alley was much lower than my back yard and I had perfect drainage, this continued until a [tar?] [polston?] had about ten loads of dirt dumped in alley on rear of his property about three years ago, which impeeded drainage to some extend but was corrected after a time. Then the city undertook to make some change in grade or something, any how they did some work which piled the dirt directly in rear of my property and impeeded drainage again. I tried to remedy matters by having some dirt put in
