To the Hon. Mayor and City Council Ft. Worth, Texas.

Gentlemen:

We, the Property Owners and Residents of South Nichols Street, West Broadway to Peter Smith, respectfully petition your honorable body for proper repairs and graveling of said mentioned street. As can be explained to you by Mr. J.B. Hawley, City Engineer, the washing and scouring of the tremendous volume of water over-flows from the very incomplete storm sewer or ditch running down through this part of the City, and has washed the street so very badly that the Western side of same along the side-walk has become a channel instead of the proper place along the East side of the street, as at present provided. We also respectfully ask that the weeds along this ditch be cut and removed, as they are now a serious danger from a health stand-point to the above mentioned Residents. We understand from Mr. Hawley that plans have been made for building a storm sewer to take care of all this water, but, as the cost of same is something like $12000.00, and, the City has no funds at present for this work, our object in asking for the repair of the street is for immediate relief from the very annoying condition which is now prevails there.

Respectfully,

W Burton Burton -Lingo company A Drffebach Mrs NG Ellis A.G. Shattuck Mrs R B Clair JB Colton L.F. Shaubhum JH colton The Traders National Bank of Fort Worth WR Edrington

Recommend that the St. Commr. be instructed to at once cut weeds and clean gutters.
