To the Honorable Mayor and City Council,

Gentlemen:

In the matter of the petition of Mr. Ingram referred to me on the subject of the extension of the Fakes & Co. building over the sidewlak, I would state to the council that I would be glad to have further time for report in this matter, for though the ordinance is plain upon the subject, collateral questions arise which make it impossible for me to hurriedly give an opinion, and since the papers came to me the city's business has been so pressing that I have been unable to give it that attention which the delicacy of the question involved would require.

Very respectfully, EC Orrick City Atty
