Began with calm weather Gain with the [Minerva?] middle and latter part light airs from the W ward Ship under all Sail Steering E the minerva in Company at 10 AM took a lunar by measuring the Fist of the Moon from the Sun Longitude deduced from this Observation was 34:40 Lat Obs 38:19

Friday the 12th light winds weather think Ship under all Sail Steering [later?] per Compass the Minerva in Sight to the W ward at 8 A M Spoke with the barque James Wallis from Sicualeoun [Szechuan?] bound to London Saw 1 other vessel to the S W ward Steering E N E So Ends all well Lat obs 39:00 Long 32:50

Saturday the 13 th Began with light airs Steered E by N by Compass Ship under all Sail at 6 PM Mad {Mer?] Flores bearing E N E distance 30 Miles middle and latter part wind & weather the Same Steered ESE People Employed in Ships duty So Ends.

Sunday the 14 th

Began with light airs from the N E ward Steering SE by E by Compass. Saw 2 Ships Standing tot eh S E ward at 4 PM made [Fyal?] bearing E distance 40 miles at 7 A M lored a boar and at the town latter part Calm and pleasant the Ship a bout 10 miles from the Harbor So Ends all well.

Monday the 15 th July

Begins with calm weather one boars Came a shore Ship 15 miles Sth W of the Harbor at 2 P M the lighter [left?] the Shore with our Produce at 8 arrives A long Sid [side] at 9 Vegetables & all hands on board made all possible Sail and put to Sea left the Marcus with 8 brls Sperm Oil middle & latter part light airs from the W ward Steering Ship E by Compass Saw 2 black fish lored and Chased with with out [Success?] People Employed in taking care of our vegetables. So Ends all well Lat Obsd by the land.

Tuesday the 16 th

Throughout these 24 hours Strong Gales from the Sth W ward Ship under all Sail Steering to the S E ward by the sind at 8 [A M?] Saw a Ship to the W ward a whaler at 10 Saw 2 hump backs So Ends all well Sat Obsd 36:05 Long 26:05

Wednesday the 17 th

Commenced with strong wind from the S th W Ship under all Sail Steering by the the wind to the S E ward middle and latter part light [?] airs with frequent Showers at 1 A M tacked Ship & steered to the west ward by the wind this day Commenced [Guiding?] Craft People Employed in Ships duty as occasion required So Ends all well Lat Obsd 35:51 Long 27:00

during these 24 hours Strong winds from the E ward & pleasant weather Steering Sth by W by Compass latter part Commenced painting the boars So goes all well Lat Obs 31:40 Long 27:10

Saturday the 20 th

Began with Strong NE trade winds Steering Sth by W Employed in Painting boats middle and latter part wind & weather the same So Ends all well Lat Obs 29:12 Long 27:08 by obs 27:03 Lunar

Sunday the 21 st

All these 24 hours Strong N E trade winds Ship under all Sail Steering Sth at 4 Passed the Meridian took A lunar by measuring the distance of the moon from the Sun Long deduced from this Observation was 21:25 at moon Long by Obs 27:01 the day being the Sabbath no labour done more than occasion required So ends all well Lat Obs 26:25

All theese 23 hours fresh N E trade winds Ship under all Sail Steering Sth by W People Employed in making Scrubbrushes and other Sundry Jobs of Ships duty so goes all well Lat Obs 21:11 Long 25: 40 west

Wednesday the 24 th

Begins with Strong winds from the E ward & dark weather Course Sth by W per Compass middle and latter part light airs Steering Sth People Employed in Ships duty as occaseion required So Ends All well Lat by Obs was 18:32 Long 26:10

Thursday the 25 th

First part of theese 24 hours light airs and pleasant weather Steering Sth by Eeast at midknight furled tthe Top Gallant Sails, wore Ship and [steered?] to the [S?] W ward at 4 [AM?] wore again and steered S S E at 7 Spoke with the Clay Church of Boston and gained with her So Ends Lat Obs 17:30 Long [21:00 ?]

Began with Strong N E trade winds which continued throughout the day at noon the Island of St Anthony East distance 10 miles from which I shall take my departure at 4 P M parted Company with the Clay & Steered S S W at 7 Steered S by W under all Sail middle & latter part wind & weath much the Same at 6 A M Steered Sth People Employed in Ships duty So Ends all well Lat Obsd 14:57 Long 25:30

Saturday the 27 th

Began with fresh N E trade winds Ship under all Sail Steering Sth middle & latter part light airs and dark weather Saw 2 Ships to the Sth ward beialined latter part bent our Stone Sails So Ends all well Except the Cooper [aged Lee?] affilicted with the veneral disease Lat Obsd 13:13 Long 25:15

Sunday the 25 th

Commenced with light airs attended with gentle Showers at 4 P M took A Squall from the S ward tacked Ship at 6 Calm again two Ships in Sight to the S ward Middle & latter part the wind and weather about the Same the day being the Sabbath no labour done more than occasion required So Ends All well Lat by Observation 12:27 Longtude [Longitude] 25:13 by obs
