on the 13th of March 1805 the ^wife of Mr. David Mann, Gardiner of Whitehaven was delivered of her tenth son and seventeenth Child born within 19 years. of whom there are now living with the Parents nine sons and six Daughters.

Mr. Pitt proposes to raise £28000 a year by a Tax of 6d per Pound on Coffee which supposes one Million one hundred and twenty thousand Pounds of Coffee to be consumed annually in Great Britain

London April 9th 1805 bought 2 1/2 yards of Cotton Card at 41. per yard of Mrs Barnes BarnardCastle to make a pair of Breeches which weighed 1lb & 1 oz.

1805 March 19th in the Night it is supposed that the Mill belonging to Mr. Crawford situate on Blackton Beck was attempted to be set fire to- and on the 6th of April following John Roan said that he would prove who set it on Fire by Jack Walton These Words he spoke in the House of Thomas Bell of Stobgreen in the Presence of many People

1805- April 9th Gave Notice to Robert Walton to fetch Coals and binders to the Mill with 4 Horses. Asked him for the money he owes Mr. Hall and recieved no satisfactory Answer.

Died on the 2d. of June 1805 at Carlisle. Mr. Wm Frizzle or Frizzel. When in perfect Health he weighed upwards of 35 Stone.

1805 June 2d. - 13 Quarts of new Milk yielded 5 Pounds of Cheese Curd when the Whey was well prefsed out in a Cheese Prefs. [Bencee] it appeours that every Quart of new Milk appoards nearly 6 ounces of Curd: By another Experiment made with old Milk it appears that a Quart of of that kind onlu affords 4 8/10 Ouces of Curd.
