A rainy day. Jim made him a tomato bed. Josie ironed and got dinner.

Ben come home from Danville tonight. He sold tobacco there today. Mayhew carried it on his truck.

Henry went to school today. I went to Carries a while this evening.

Jim hung up the meat this morning.

We heard to day that Willie Brumfield went to Robert Laynes. We thought that he would come to see us but he did not come.

A cool windy day the men folks put on the canvas for their plant beds this morning and cut & mauled this evening.

Kate Harvey come a few minutes to day. She eat dinner with us. She brought me some homony. I went with her part the way home. I carried Edna & Franklin to Marvins and Carrie looked after them while I went to Posie Reynolds and got some turnip salit.

We heard to day that Tom Lumpkins and Tom Johnson was dead, one of them at Danville and one at New Port News. Johnson Reynolds went to Danville to be at Lumpkins burial.

Jim got a letter from Nellie telling him that Mr Walker is very sick.

Jim & Ben walked over to the store at Renan to night. Mr Lewis was not there so they come home soon and went to bed.

10 oclock

I finished pickin the 1919 crop of cotton to night.

A cloudy cool day. Ben plowed. Jim fixed up the grape vines at the garage and plowed over his potatoe patch. Bettie Rosser ironed here today.

Mr Dews carried his car to Gretna this morning.

Ben had a letter from Josie. She wants to come home tomorrow. I wont be surprised if there is snow by morning.

Lee is in Danville with his last tobacco. Otie Kellie and several others went to Chatham today.

Edna & Franklin has bin in doors all day today.

A beautiful day. The men stripped tobacco until dinner then they loaded the waggon ready to start to Gretna in the morning. John Hutcherson loaded his truck for Marvin. They are going to Danville.

Josie got the dinner.

Henry and Edna went to school. I ironed some this morning and mended some things this evening.

Jim ask me to wake him at three in the morning.

A good day. Jim and Owen went to Gretna with the tobacco today. Ben went to Gretna with the car. He bough roofing for the hen houses.

Carrie spent the day with Josie.

Lee Brumfield and I went to the river. Lee caught one fish. I did not catch any thing. I was glad to go with him. I bought 10 pounds of sugar from Oscar Booker. I stopped at Mr Dillards while Lee & Dillard gathered some chinquapins.

Marvin went to Danville today. Reese went with him.
