VERSO:
It was votedsuggested by Supt. Storrs that $350, of our funds of $500, given by Mrs. A. K. Hardy for the care of her husband's grave, be refunded to Mrs. Hardy, as she complained that our care was inadequate. She intends to supplement our care by other help. The Supt. has found it impossible this past summer on account of trouble in getting labor to do all he [moted] in care of the grave
It was voted that the Treasurer be instructed to refund $350 to Mrs. A. K. Hardy, on account of her cemetery lot.
The meeting then adjourned.
Frederic P. Lord, Secretary.
RECTO:
Hanover, N.H November 2, 1942.
COPY of Resolution of the Directors of the Dartmouth Cemetery Association, which was sent to Mrs. Gilman D. Frost, wife of the late president of this Association.
Dr. Gilman Dubois Frost, a Director of this Association since 1908 and its President since 1922, died on October 8, 1942, and this Association finds itself greatly at a loss in his absence and in the loss of his interest, devotion and valued counsel in the care of the Dartmouth Cemetery. Throughout the thirty-four years of his directorship and the twenty years of his presidency of this Association Dr. Frost has given the cemetery his intelligent and continuing attention; he has frequently inspected the grounds to make certain that they were in good condition, aiding, advising and assisting the Superintendent on his duties of regular care of the cemetery. He has given advice in regard to our financial status and he has given much thought to the difficult problem of endowment and the finding of sufficient funds to carry on the work which he felt was needed.
The cemetery has been fortunate indeed in having had Dr. Frost as a Director of its controlling body.
In this inadequate and formal fashion the other directors wish to express their debt to the able and kindly member who has been forced to discontinue his services in the only way such an end could be effected.
Signed by the Directors of the Dartmouth Cemetery Association.
