Here rests ye body of ye Revd. Mr. John M. Maltby born at New Haven in Connectic August ye 3d A.D. 1727, Graduated at Yale College AD 1747 Minister to a Presbyterian Church at Bermuda & Then at Wilton in South Car olina. A strenuous Assertor of ye Doctrines of Grace convin'd of Original Guilt & Confiding in ye Sole Righteousness of Christ, Justise, Lost Man, before God. In preaching Zealous & Pathetic in his Devotions fervant, his Sermons: Judicious Correct & instructive; his stile Manly & Solemn, of Manners gentle Polite & humane, of strong Mentel Endowments, embe lished with Sacred, & Polite Literature. In his friendship Cordial, sincere & trusty, Detesting Craft Dissimulation & Fraud he dy'd Septr. 30th A. D. --------- 45th. 1771
