A shower this morning. Clear this evening. The men commenced to plow but the rain stoped them.

This evening Ben carried me and Henry & Reese to Cedar Forest. We caught a few fish. Stoped at Strait Stone and got a few things.

Nellie come today. Her & Jim picked black berries all the evening.

Kate come this evening. Ben & Jim went with her home.

Virginia went to Brookneal this morning. She went to Ed Harveys to visit.

Alma Bennett come to Carries yesterday. She is doing some sewing. I want to go and see her soon.

A rainy day. We could not get any water out of the spring that would do to use until nearly night. The men folks cant do anything in the crop.

Ben went to Mr Dews to play croquet. It rained so hard that they had to quit.

We had fried chicken for dinner. Did not try to get vegetables.

Josie sowed some. Made Henry a shirt. Nellie worked some button holes in Franklins clothes. Henry & Edna went to George Blairs this evening. They are trying to learn to recite some pieces.

A rainy day. It has rained some for five days. Every thing is nearly drowned. The men folks has not done anything much to day.

Josie got dinner. Nellie washed and dried and ironed some of her clothes this evening.

I milk and churn.

Josie sewed some this evening.

Tom Edmons has cured a house of primings, the first that has bin cured a bout here.

A good day. Ben carried Nellie & Evylin to Gretna this morning. He got back home at 10:20 oclock. They have cut tobacco this evening.

Josie sewed today. She two gowns then gathered some snaps for dinner tomorrow.

Marvin finished cutting tobacco today.

I went to Marvins this evening. Carrie sent Henry some papers to read. He now has one reading. I am going to put out the light as he will have to work tomorrow. Will need all the sleep he can get.

I got a letter from Elsie East this evening. Was glad to hear from her.

Cloudy most of the day but no rain. Ben & Owen moved tobacco this morning and cut this evening. Jim staid at the barn. Is there now.

Josie sewed most all day. This evening Mag Brumfield and Doris & Janie and little Charley come to see us. Rees Smith carried his mother to Strait Stone this evening.

I got a letter from Evylin this evening. I am always glad to hear from any of the kindsfolks.
