The following notice was posted in two public places in the village.

The Dartmouth Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting at Precinct Hall Apr. 9. 1877 at 2 P.M.

1st To choose a Moderator.

2nd To elect officers for ensuing year.

3d To transact any other business lawfully coming before the meeting.

RECTO:

In accordance with the foregoing notice the Association met at Precinct Hall Apr. 9. at 2 P.M. E. R. Ruggles chair man. It was voted to adjourn to Apr. 23d. as so few were present.

J. W. Patterson was elected Chairman of meeting.

The following officers were elected for the year ensuing.

VERSO:

Voted that Mr. Cobb see Mr. A. [Yara], &ask him to help repair fence between his land & the Cemetery.

Voted that Mr. Cobb see to repairing fence about Cemetery.

Voted that J. A. [Yara] & C. Marsterson have their lots for 5. each. Also to exchange lots with I. B. Allen.

Voted that Pres. look up law in respect to cutting trees in Cemeteries, & take such action in the matter as he may think best.

Voted that that the Directors see about cutting [pass] in Cemetery several times per year.

Voted that Directors endeavor to get Control of whole Cemetery.

Voted to adjourn.

Notice

The annual meeting of the Dartmouth Cemetery Association will be holden at Precinct Hall, on Monday, April 8, 1878, at 2 o'clock P.M.

1st To choose a Moderator to preside over said meeting.

3. To transact any other business coming before said meeting.

RECTO:

The Dartmouth Cemetery Association having failed to hold its annual meeting for the year 1879. Application was made for a legal meeting, as follows:

To Samuel W. Cobb a Justice of the Peace for the County of Grafton.

The subscribers, owners of one twentieth of the stock and property of the Dartmouth Cemetery Association, represent that said corporation has failed to hold its annual meeting for the year 1879. They therefore request you to call a meeting of the members of said corporation to be held at the office of Frederic Chase, in said Hanover on Saturday the 24th day of Apr. at 3 'o clock in the afternoon for the purpose of acting upon the following subjects. viz:-

1st To choose a moderator to preside over said meeting.

2nd To choose all necessary officers for the year ensuing.

3d To see if the association will vote to accept the gift of Mrs. Maria B. Furber, on conditions named therein.

4th To transact any other necessary business.

The State of New Hampshire. Grafton SS:- To L. B. Downing of Hanover, in said County of Grafton :- Whereas application has been made to me, Samuel H. Cobb, a Justice of the Peace for the said County of Grafton as above. You are required to warn a meeting of said Corporation to be held at the time and place, and for the purposes mentioned in said application, by publishing a copy of said application and warrant fourteen days in the same manner as is provided for warning the annual meeting of said corporation, and make return of this warrant at said time and place of meeting. Dated the 2nd day of April, A.D. 1880. Samuel H. Cobb. Justice of the Peace. I this day posted at the Post Office in this village and at the store of Samuel H. Cobb true & attested copies of the above, which I hereby certify are true copies of the original application and warrant. L. B. Downing. Sect. Hanover, NH April 2, 1880.

RECTO: At the annual meeting held at the time and place mentioned in foregoing application and warrant, it was voted to adjourn to the same place Apr. 27 3 P.M. Hanover, N.H. Apr 2X, 1880. L.B. Downing. Sect. The adjourned meeting was presided over by the Pres. James I. Patterson. The following officers were elected for the year ensuing.

Copy of a Deed from Mrs. Maria B. Furber, to Dartmouth Cemetery Association.

Newton Center Mass. Dec. 30, 1879. To the Hanover Cemetery Association of Hanover, New Hampshire: I hereby give to the Hanover Cemetery Association the sum of one hundred dollars, in trust, to apply the income of the same, from time to time, annually, as may be necessary for the care, preservation, and embellishment of a lot and its appurtenances, situated in said Hanover Cemetery, wherein is now buried the remains of my late husband, Professor David Peabody, and to keep the principal sum and all unexpend balances of annual income safely invested in bonds registered bonds of the United States. the principal of one hundred dollars to be preserved and maintained intact, as a permanent fund, and the income only to be annually expended. As may be necessary, to keep the lot and its appurtenances substantially in their present condition and desire the remainder be allowed to accumulate so as to provide for possible extraordinary expenses, in repairs, in the future, or removal of the monument and stones, and for such other changes as may be necessary to maintain the lot and its appurtenances in good condition and repair forever. It being expressly understood and conditioned, provided that the permanent fund of

one hundred dollars is always to be preserved and maintained, and if by any misfortune it becomes impaired it is to be made up by adding each year at least one half of the annual income until the principal shall be restored to the full amount of one hundred dollars. I have deposited the said sum of one hundred dollars into the hands of Hon. Frederic Chase of Hanover N.H. for this purpose, to be by him invested in a registered United States bond, and turned over to your Treasurer, if you accept the trust.

It is my wish that the fund shall remain upon the same, or similar security, and that no change of the investment be made without the vote of your executive board, and the written approval of the President of your association, for the time being. and that the accumulations as fast as they accrue shall be deposited in the Dartmouth Savings Bank, for the purpose of the trust, if it is solvent, otherwise in some other solvent Savings Bank, and when a surplus of sufficient amount shall have accumulated beyond the general necessary expenditure that it also be transferred to United States Reged Registered Securities.
