Copy of Deed from the Dartmouth Cemetery Association to Henry Fairbanks.

Know all men by these presents that We, the Dartmouth Cemetery Association existing in Hanover, County of Grafton and State of New Hampshire for and in consideration of two hundred dollars to us in hand before the delivery hereof, well and truly paid by Henry Fairbanks of said Hanover, the receipt whereof we do hereby acknowledge, have granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do grant give bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, convey and confirm to the said. Henry Fairbanks his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in said Hanover and bounded as follows, beginning on the line of Prof. Hubbard's land, where said line intersects with the southern boundary of the college lane, thence running South 11 1/2° west 3 rods and 3 links, thence North 81 3/4° W. on the Cemetery land 16 rods and 22 links to a stone post at a point where the Northern boundary of the line of the Cemetery lot intersects the Southern line of Prof. Fairbank's land, thence North 72 1/2° East, 13 rods and 2 1/2 links, to a stone post thence S. 55 3/4° East 5 rods and 21 links to the first mentioned bound containing about one third of an acre,

more or less, it being understood and agreed by the contracting parties, that as a part of the consideration for the land in addition to the $200 mentioned above, that the said Fairbanks shall build and maintain a good and sufficient fence on the whole line between his land and the Cemetery; and, that in case he should sell or alienate the land purchased of this association, it shall be sold with the perpetual obligation of the purchaser to repair and sustain said fence; further, it is agreed as part of the consideration that said Fairbanks shall allow a right of way over his land and through his private road for all the purposes for which the Association may wish to use it.

The above is a true copy of the terms and condition of sale. The deed was executed by the President and Secretary of the Association and recorded in the Grafton County Records April 17, 1867, Lib 290; Folio 321

October 28. 1867.

At a meeting of the Directors of the Association, held at the house of the Secretary Voted to loan the money given by Henry Lord Esq on real estate security, if possible, 'till such time as it may be needed for use.

Voted to issue a printed notice inviting the citizens to contribute labor or money for the purpose of improving the Cemetery on the 9th day of November next.

Voted that the President of the Association confer with the owners of land South of the Cemetery to ascertain if a path can be secured for the use of the Association over their land.

Notice

The Dartmouth Cemetery Association will meet at the study of E. D. Sanborn on Thursday, the 8th day of April next at 2 o'clock P.M. to choose officers for the year ensuing.

I certify that I posted the above notice in two public places, in the village, more than 14 days before the time of meeting, & made oath to the above certificate before S. W. Cobb Justice of the Peace. E. D Sanborn, Clerk

The Association met according to the above notice and elected the following board of officers:

Copy of a deed from Dixi Crosby to Georgie B. Brewster.

Know all men by these presents that we Dixi Crosby of Hanover, County of Grafton and state of New Hampshire and Mary J. Crosby, wife of said Dixi Crosby for & in consideration of the sum of forty dollars, to us in hand, before the delivery hereof, well & truly paid by Mrs. Georgie B. Brewster of Boston, County of Suffolk & state of Mass. the receipt whereof we do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained & sold & by these presents do give, grant, bargain sell, alien, enfeoff and convey unto the said Georgie B. Brewster, her heirs & assigns forever, one lot in the Dartmouth Cemetery, situated on that eminence which runs from the North West corner of the old grave yard westward to the brow of the hill, being the lot lying immediately West of Rev. Herman Rood's lot and bounded on the North & South by ravines. To have & to hold the said granted premises with all the privileges and appurtenances to the same belonging to her the said Georgie B. Brewster & her heirs & assigns, to her & their only proper use & benefit forever. And I, the said Dixi Crosby do hereby covenant, grant & agree to & with the said Georgie B. Brewster & her heirs & assigns, that
