Shingling negroes House, my sheep 34 in number brot up here 24th Inst.
26th. Went to plantation, & mount airy & sold my Tobacco at aspen Grove made by chumbly 1862 to A. J. Lewis for &75 pr Hundred –
28 & 29 finished shrubbing corn field & Henry finished covering negroes House
29th. Delivered to A J Lewis 2430 lbs Tobacco to day pr Rect got to deliver the Lugs yet. say 2430 lbs @ $75 pr Hundred is $1833.50 Cash say 757 @ 75 " paid is
30st I stay at home my wife went to Greenfield
Sept 2. & 1st & 31st augt. pulling fodder etc Pealing fruit clear & very weather,
Sept 5 Stacked nearly five stacks Blade fodder Cut some tops & wormed over & succored ourTobacco
9th. Pulling fodder Cutting some tops Cutting Carrot weeds[?] Cutting young or stalks Corn got no year
10. Tying up fodder this morning likely for rain, -
Say Our Crop Tobacco at aspen Grove Plantation made by chumbly 1862 3112 lbs Sold to AJ Lewis @ $75. is $2334.00.
12 Cutting tops pulling fodder stacking fodder etc got 9 Stacks.
14: 15.16. working in fodder & I went to Danville & carried Sallie to school & I am assessing
18 19 cloudy & Damp this week pulled fodder [water stain] & Sewed some Oats wormed our our Tobacco I am from Home all the time
September 23, 1863 - October 24, 1863
1863 Sept 23rd weighed out negroes meat till 23rd Oct next from this day – Stacking Topings to day. –
24. 25. Stacking Tops Halling up etc Cutting down sugar Kane, etc. I went yesterday to Mottys & to day to Mr Wallers. Kitty taken sick Thursday morning & bad off yet Kitty is worse & to night 25th about 10 or 11 Oclock she Died, in labor, child could not be born - Doct Estes & Mrs Stanly with her Estes Came Twice Mrs Stanly Came thursday morning & stayed till morning after she Died
26 27 28 29. 30. Oct 1. I am gone from from Home assessessing Con. Tax they are Cutting Tobacco getting in Lot Corn & Cutting Sugar Cane & stacking etc - It took me from monday 28th Sept till Thursday night late to finished the other side Banister [River] & then did not get done entirely. Oct 2nd Raining this morning – – getting out flax seed etc thank God I found all well & doing well

10th The past week I have been up on Banister River to CH & back To Chalk Level friday & saturday to meeting at Strait Stone Sewing wheat making Molasses etc, made molasses at old place & my plantation this week & making at home to day.
24 I have been from home 2 weeks assessing & they [tra?] making molasses last week this week trying to seed wheat Rained both weeks fanned out some wheat hear to day while raining, - 4 soulders here to
