Very cold & raw.
Bill all right again.
Played croquet with
the Gov. before [crossed out] dinner.
Got an old [crossed out] umbrella of the
Gov's rigged up as good as new.

SUNDAY, 23.
Fine weather & rain at intervals.
Dick Co & Flo walked to the
cathedral for morning service.
Mum and Alice at the Chapel (a.m.)
Put the kennels in the river to
get washed, for an hour or so. Walked
into town and back before tea.

MONDAY, 24
Fine day.
Dick and Jack (bull dog) off
for the Falls by 12.20 p.m. train.
Got measured at Peel's for a new
suit of clothes. Commenced
getting up early to read. Mr Strathy
out to play croquet & to dinner.

Fine warm day. Sam off to
Chy. hearings at Chatham.
Half the 16th Regt. arrived. Had
my hair cut. [crossed out]
New levy of Volunteers turned
out. Played croquet with
the Gov. Mum and Alice before dinner

WEDNESDAY, 26.
Thunder storm & rain at
11 a.m. Fine all the rest of
the day. Sam back from
Chatham by midday train.
Celina Hamilton & Miss Holden out
to play croquet. Gov & I played
with them.

THURSDAY, 27
Fine day. Went out for a
ride in afternoon on
the big mare. Telegraph from
Alick that he leaves Montreal
for home tonight. Finished
Haynes.
