Light fall of snow last
night with a cold & strong
wind from N. Didn't go
to church. Dosed the pups
with oil & [crossed out] sulphur.

MONDAY, 17
Fine day. Drove in , in
the morning & left the
heavy dumb bells at the
gymnasium. After office
walked up the river with
a gun but saw nothing.
Gov. went to Woodstock & back on
assize biz.

TUESDAY, 18.
Very windy & dusty all day.
Mr. Schwreger come to Thornwood
to pay us a visit. Dick &
James commenced to sow the
upper pasture with oats. Wrote
to Alick about lieutenancy of
London Company for the frontier.

Fine in the morning but
rain all afternoon.
Mr. Schwreger left by 11.40
a.m Train for Berlin.
Woolison come in Skellington's
place who left last
night. Letter from Fanty.

THURSDAY, 20.
Rain nearly all day.
Bill not well & had to go home.

FRIDAY, 21.
Rainy nearly all day. &
very warm in the evening.
Came out from office early
with the gov. & played croquet
