fall last night.Attended
court Widder v B & L.H.R.
still going on. Albert
Prince left by 6.40 p.m. train
for home.

TUESDAY, 11.
Fine day, but a little sprinkling
of rain in the afternoon. Widder's
case decided against him by
the jury. Gov. off by 7 p.m. train
to Chatham assizes. Saw
Frank start for India.
Assizes adjourned till 8th of next May.

WEDNESDAY, 12
Gale of wind all last night
with rain. Slates blowing about
Richmond Street from the roofs.
Wrote to the Gov. & Alick. Engaged
a boy in Skellington's place. Letter
from Alick. Put the pups in the
kennel in the back yard.
Pony strayed.

Fine day. Wrote to Nelson.
Dick home for Easter holidays
by 12 a.m. train.
Boat club meeting in
Monsarrat's office. Paid
my subscription to him.
Drove in and out from the office. Pony
back again all right.

FRIDAY, 14.
Good Friday. took a holiday.
Got up early & went fishing with
Dick, before breakfast. After
lunch [crossed out] walked out to
the old channel with
Dick, to shoot but shot
nothing.

SATURDAY 15.
Fine day. Letters from Fanty
& Bruce. Governor home
from Chatham by 6.50 p.m.
train (mixed). After office
went up the river with Dick
& shot a duck. Got a pup from the
Smyth's & gave it to Jno. Coote
News that Abe Lincoln is murdered.
