no 5189 Mr William Recr of Wreck Hull

according to the statement sent by the Re-ceiver he does not appear to have ammended his Report Book in accordance with the instructions conveyed in the queries on his account for June quarter 1858 Had he done so he would have seen at once that the amounts of net proceeds due to the Lord of the Manor or reference no 6817/1858 are £22-18-10 & £12-4-3 & not £12-8-0 & £3-9-2 as stated by him,- The duplicate Schedules for the June quarter 1858 are annexed with the alterations therein initialled by the Receiver from which he will perceive that the net proceees corres-pond with the amounts as shown on no 9a J Wray -

Regret to have caused so much trouble in this matter as I appear to have done. I find that the account as set out by you is quite correct.

The Depositions of G. Erratt, 2nd mate, and of Mratkinson seaman, have been taken by Mr Saxelbye Receiver for Hill, - I am Receiver for Sandlemere only.

I request your instructions as to detaining the mate or one or more of the seamen, if you consider that I should take this case out of Mr Saxelbye's hands. I am sir your most obdt servt D.C.

In re "arctic" 20 Oct 1860

Sir,

I beg to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of yesterday's date.

I have not been able to find Mr Wilson (the owner of this vessel) today but one of his clerks thinks there will be no objections to recalling the master by telegram on Monday, it is very unlikely, however that he can be home by the end of next week, as he has been very ill, and unable to leave his room.

Under the circumstances I am doubtful what day, for attendance, should be named in the summonses to be served on the mates, Boatswain Helmsman &, - Please inform me as to this by Telegram on monday morning. I am, Sir, your most obdt servt D.C.
