We met the [[Duke of Chalbis]] out
a walking at a little distance from the
field of review: I thought him quite a
handsom young fellow. He is ab't [about] 23 y'rs [years]
of age - As he passed afterwards in his
Coach, the Regiment saluted him as a
Kings Son -

This Evening went to the Rehear
-sal of ~~a Comedy~~ Opera, w'ch [which] begins to be
performed tomorrow night. The Performers
are reckoned amongst the best in [[Italy]].
I was well pleased for my own part both
with the Music, the Singing & Action, & by
the Applause it met with, this seem'd to
be universally liked -

We omitted going to the Conversation
of the [[Countess of St. Gill]] after the Opera, as
we thought it late, & were inform'd that
fewer were there this night than usual
