should she salute a second time The Fort returns it - - 19th Whilst an Admiral Commodore or Senior Captain of any of His Majesty's Ships are in the Roads no Ships having a Junior Captain is to be saluted as she cannot answer the salute, but the Captain is to have his proper salute on landing. 20th The Captains of his Majesty's Ships are not to be saluted more than once in six Months & the same rule to be observed to their respective Ships when the Admiral or Commodore's Ship is not in the Roads - - - 21st The salutes of any of the Hon'able Company's Ships on their arrival from or departure for Europe to be answered with 9 22d On the Commanders of the said Ships coming on 9 shore from or going on board for Europe - - -

Art 23d If the Company's Ships are bound to or from a Country Voyage the Captains are not to be saluted - - - 24th All foreign Ships, whether with or without Pendants that salute the Fort to have an equal Number of guns returned to them except the Dutch who are to have two less - - 25th Country Ships saluting the Fort to be returned with two guns less - - 26th Excepting the Governor the admiral & the Commander in Chief of the Army, no Person civil or military entitled by his Rank to a salute is to the saluted but when he comes into, or leaves the Garrison upon public Service.
