[Wednesday, January 25] called Mr. M.

Used machine at 9:30 Breakfast at 10:30 Called Pola at 12:45, she and Rebecca came at 4 with the baby. I returned with Lou from the little house, greeted the guests + held the baby til they P + R had tea + a sandwich. Pola brot a note from Rex re Freedom House

Took Pauline to Lou for time were away. Constance Hope dinner. Black tie. Freibe drove in. Very rainy nite, cabs We spent night in NY.

Winzer cleaners made pick up at 9:30 We left at 10:30 trip about 1 hr. Pauline returned. Mr Keller (of Conn Comm. on the Arts) and his wife came at 4.

[Sunday, January 29] Went to Lou 5:15 for dinner. The McNamara's and their son, the Lees and their daughter. We sampled Lou's first P.

[Thursday, February 2] Shopping. Went to Genung's then to First Ntn'l for provisions. Back home Pauline made cookies. I prepared chicken, and vegetables, Pauline made salad Lou arrived at 6:30 and we had dinner at 7. Lou left at 11

[Friday, February 3] Call from Mr Fields of Freedom House. Pauline and I worked down stairs for a while then went to Food Fair at 4 + o'clock. Purchases $16.80 cash. Went directly to little house, Freibe cleaning up over there. Dinner - Sent wire to Tom

Transcription Conventions

Spelling: Maintain original spelling (including u/v, i/j, and ff). Long "s" should be replaced with a regular "s". Terminal long "i" characters are transcribed as "i" not "j".
Hyphenation: Preserve hyphens (including "=" characters) at the ends of lines.
Capitalization: Maintain original
Punctuation: Add modern periods, but don't add punctuation like commas and apostrophes.
Deletions: Deleted characters and words are tagged with "strike" and then displayed with the line through them.
Symbols: For apothecary and alchemical symbols, use these symbols followed by the meaning of the symbol in brackets: Rx [recipe]; ℈ [scruple]; ʒ [dram]; ʒs [half dram]; ℥ [ounce]; ℥s [half ounce]; ℔ [pound].
For roman numerals following symbols that indicate amount, i.e., j=1, ij=2, iij= 3, v=5, type arabic numeral in brackets following roman numeral: i [1], ii [2], iii [3], v [5].
Line Breaks: Hit return once after each line ends. Two returns indicate a new paragraph, which is usually indentation following the preceding sentence in the original. The times at the end of each entry should get their own paragraph, since the software does not support indentation in the transcriptions.
Illegible text: Indicate illegible readings in single square brackets: [Dr?]
A single newline indicates a line-break in the original document, and will not appear as a break in the text in some views or exports. Two newlines indicate a paragraph, and will appear as a paragraph break in all views.
