5, Roger, born Sept. 12, 1781; married Hannah Fishback.
6, Catharine, born Feb.5, 1783; married 1st, Peter Fontaine; m.2nd, Capt. John Nelson.
7, Matilda, born Dec. 19, 1784; married May 30, 1799; Isaac Robertson and died at Lousville, Mch.5,1833. She was grandmother of the writer. Her history and her husband's in the genealogy, "Robertson-Taylor" mentioned previously.
8, Lucy, or Lucinda, born Dec.12,1786, married Phil. Barbour.
9. Elizabeth, born March 1788; died July 27, 1794, in Caroline Co.Va.
10. Sarah, born March 6, 1790; died young.
JOHN TAYLOR,
seventh son of Col.George Taylor, born January 27, 1751, was Commissioned August 13, 1777 Midshipman in Nacy [of Virginia]; promoted August 1778 to Lieutenantcy and served his brother, Commodore Rich ard.
He was captured by the British-probably in the same action as the one in which the Commodore received his knee wound, Nov. 1781-and carried a prisoner to New York and died there on the old "Jersey" Prison-ship He never married.
MAJOR WILLIAM TAYLOR,
eighth son of Col. George Taylor, born January 23, 1753, was Commissioned January 29, 1776, 1st, Lieutenant 2nd, Virginia Regiment; promoted, Dec.28,1776, to Captaincy; commissioned Major of the 9th, Va. Reg't. Dec.7,1779; retired February 12, 1781. He received a bounty of 5,333 acres. Removed to Kentucky in 1786, or earlier, lived at Louisville and died Apr.14,1830.
He married twice-1st, in 1786 to Lucy Hord, who died June 1, 1794; 2nd, on July 20, 1796 to Elizabeth Coats. Children: by first wife,
