Mr Sherwins, We had rather a
funny time, attempted to dance; but
such dancing! I was so tired that
I scarcely knew what to do with
myself. The company was rather
a mixed one; there was a Mr
Root, who looked just as bright
as roots usually do, turnips for
instance, boiled and mashed - Mr
Clarke our school teacher was
decidedly the pleasantest gentelman
(not of our family of[underlined] course[underlined]) there, and
he is not extra[underlined] brilliant; but he wears
pretty well. Cousin Annie was there
she is extremely well this winter.

Yesterday Aunts Avis and Delia
had a childrens candy[underlined] party[underlined], I fancy
