Miss Galbraith had to go on board the
S.S. 'Kaikoura' to get the bills signed.
In the eveg. we had our mutual improvement meeting when A. Fletcher
sang, the "Orphan Boy" Magt. Conroy "Be kind to thy Mother &c"
M.A. OBrian "The Spider & the fly". Kate McMahon "she'll wake again tomorrow"
M.A. Colman & Emily Tompkins "Fill our hearts with love to Jesus." &c &c
all seemed to enjoy themselves. clapg. of hands and encore.

Teusday. [tuesday]

Sub comt. met
All the inmates quiet and more settled than formerly.
Took Ann Moloy and Amy to try and get situations
went to the Panama Office to ask if they would pay
on Saty. and to see if the bills were properly [underscored] signed -

Wednesday.
3rd
Lady Young came to see us today, and praised the sewing we sent her. and requested me to purchace [purchase] a whole peice [piece] of linen to make up into night dresses for her.
her ladyship said she felt sorry that I had not a
gardener to attend the [inserted] garden that next door garden was beautiful

Thursday
4th
We have a good supply of sewing now, which
will keep us employed untill [until] next steamer
comes in. cash received September £39.8.8.
Butcher's bill for three months £36.14.7 1/2.
