October 7th
Sabbath
All the inmates were in attendance
at the services (Mr. Selby came to preach
in the eve)
Number of inmates 34. The Matron went
up the garden a little before afternoon service & found
Elizth Irvin lying full length in the grass and Ester Brace
examining her head etc.

Monday
8th
Harriet Penketh begd hard to be readmitted
she was sent to Mrs. Smith.

Emily Turner was married today by
Revd. Thos. Smith, she called this afternoon to give
us a piece of wedding cake, neatly wrapd. in
writing paper and tied with white satin ribbon
after wishing "Mr. & Mrs. Bell" much happiness etc
I took her to see all the inmates & receive
their congratulations - and gave her a nice
bunch of flowers and a little picture in a frame.
Miss Dann spent an hour reading and conversing
with the inmates, whilst they were employed sewing.
Miss D very kindly offers to come once a week to help
me.

Tuesday
9th
Three inmates admitted to day. Harriet was
readmitted very reluctantly. owing to
her bad condition in the situation the ladies
provided for her.
