11th
Lady Young and Miss Dalton came
paid £5.5.0 for work done in the
garden and for the wire fencing. Her ladyship ordered
the Matron to employ the gardener for another day to two and
also to send to the government gardens for more banana
trees.
The linen from the steamer "Ruahine"
was brought this afternoon. Mrs. Willis (Stewardess)
came to count it, but we only got through half by 6.oclk [o'clock]. She will
come on Saty [Saturday] to count the remainder. _ The Purser wants all finishd [finished]
by the 23rd. it will be a very dificult [difficult] task but we will
try.

Friday 12th. Harriet Penketh has been ill, but seems now
much better after her rest & abstinence _
Esler [?], Ester Brace & Elizth.[Elizabeth] Irvin have been
swearing - we are truly distressed with their conduct &
dont know what to do with them.
Saturday
13th
Our messenger brought 9 bannana [banana] trees from
Government gardens.

Revd. [Reverend] Wm. Bain - Newcastle, preached here _-all the
