Short day at Minerva Came home lighted fire & worked a little but the light was desperate & the draughts terrible

26 FRIDAY

All day at Minerva. At 7.30 met Nell & Kath at Endell St W.R.A. quarters. Were going to Australian corrobboree but a convoy delayed Kath, till too late so we went to see Potash & Perlmutter where Kath got us stalls on the strength of her uniform.

27 SATURDAY

Oh the cold inside - Cooked at Minerva. Mrs Bell & I stayed & cleaned up. Sun shone a moment now & again. Got home lit fire & read "Virtue" ready for typing.

28 SUNDAY

Did some typing on Virtue but light wrung my eyes terribly. A. M. Cadogan came for tea with Usshers which I shared.

29 MONDAY

Typed all day on "Virtue" devilish bad light. In evening went to French. Mighty cold in the holes which the English have for homes.
