Mrs M received the box you were so kind as to send her by Mr Bernie's vessel and all her little things safe which were very acceptable to them all. We are all thro' mercy pretty well. Mrs M is considerablly recoved from what she was. She has no use in one arm but is able to attend to the concerns of the family. I was very happy that she was so far recovered, as to allow me to visit New Zealand. It is wonderful how divine Providence opens a way for me to accomplish my desires for the promotion of his Gospel. For many years I have ardently wished to visit New Zealand but I had neither pecunary means, nor could I gain permiss ion from the government here. Mr Vale coming out as clergyman I obtained leave of absence for four months. 217 Eimeo September 4th 1815 My Dear Friend, Tho my papa's letter to you by the present conveyance makes my writing to you unnecessary - by way of giving you news, yet must give you a few lines to convince you of the continuence of my friend ship, and that what you have said to my papa respecting me has not given me the smallest offence. on the contrary I sincere ly thank you for the concern you there by manifest for my welfare. My long silence indeed needs an apology. It was owing to shame on acount of what you had heard concerning me. I hope you will pardon it and let me hear from you as formerly. I hope this will find you well. I am myself troubled with pains which perhaps are growing

ones, and dont enjoy a very good state of health in general. THis has been a season of much sicknss & death here and of trouble & perplex ity from the death of poor Mr Scott, wars etc We have prepared a couple of boats to make our escape to some of the Leeward islands should it be necessary for us so to do. I am now daily employed withe my papa at the Vessel which is now a calking; but her deck is not laid nor will she be finished for a long time yet. Please to give my Kind respects to your Father and Mother, and love to your brothers and Sisters, and accept the same yourself from your sincere friend & true wellwisher Saml. P. Henry

I received your kind letter and Sincerely thank you for Sending me the thinges, I wish it lay in my powr to Serve you the Same kindness I received all the things Correct Except one of the Hogsheads wich had Books etc in it for the Mission - it was direc ted to Mr Hayward by Mr Shelley it also had property in it for Mr Hayward and he Sem to think the Cask is hos own - I shall be Glad if you will have the Goodness to ask Mrs Shelley wheare the Cask is Mr Hayward ornot and let me no - Captn Campbell Sayes the Queen Charlotte have
