But how does this fit into the bigger picture? I came down here for fun: just to do a couple gay resorts, not to thing about moving here, but I guess that's always on my mind. My time in Laguna took me through Irvine + Newport Beach on my way in + out of Laguna. I really couldn't see how I could've lived in a place with so little character. It's so new + pretty. But it's only got one or two fun gay bars. It's not a city at all. And Laguna itself is very relaxing, but it doesn't seem to draw a hot professional crowd. The group is very young, and the older ones are waiters or models or aspiring actors. Yawn! Except on a nite before a holiday or a Sunday I wouldn't want to be there. Even Friday nights are weak, as I recall. It's not as big a deal as russian river! [insert to left] Why did I go on Labor Day? Rick Calista's invitation. [/insert]

So as well as dropping San Diego, I think Oragne County is very inappropriate for me now. And of course I've never felt great in LA, since it has no pretty beaches (just Venice), no geographic beauty [insert] ugly silver lake [\insert], traffic congestion, sprawl, Long Dis Driving, huge overadvertised newspapers, huge population, area code 213, porno stars at the gym, crowded gym, social competition, no countryside to escape to, and overwhelming wealth and tackiness.

What do I like about LA? Why am I here? And what do want to achieve before I leave? I like being looked at, at fashionable hot bars, by other hot men. I like them finally liking me after all these years. What a difference tits + ass make!! We'll see if there's more, but I doubt it. I don't expect to return here this summer. On to SF + NYC. This avoids Olympics as well + summer vacationers.
