LELAND STANFORD JUNIOR UNIVERSITY

Officer of the Registrar Stanford University, California September 13, 1922.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

This will serve to introduce Mr. W. Y. Evans-Wentz, a graduate of Stanford University in the class of 1906. Mr. Wentz later attended Jesus College, Oxford, and as a student of Celtic folk-lore and literature, made himself an enviable name. His scholarly interests led him to a temporary residence in India, where he has been engaged in the collection and translation of rare and valuable manuscripts and in the promotion of education and research.

Mr. Evans-Wentz is a broad-minded, broad-visioned man of absolute integrity, to the very agreeable personal qualities, and devoted to the furterance of sound scholarship and the highest interests of civilization. I am glad to count him as a friend, and believe that he will be found worthy of every trust that may be committed to him.

C. L. Elliott
Registrar.
