California.

Sept. 13, 1922.

To whom it may concern:

I beg to commend to whoever is interested my former student and good friend Mr. W. Y. Evans-Wentz, late of Jesus College, Oxford, now of India. Dr. Wentz is graduate of Stanford and of Oxford. He began his philosophical work in England by a study of Irish folklore. For the last 5 years he has resided in India, making special studies of the religion and philosophy of the Buddhists. He is a very learned scholar and a man of the highest personal character and as such I beg to ask the favorable attention of those interested in his work and his specialties.
