It is such a lovely bright morning that Minnie and I are going to Mayfield to church and enjoy the weather. Last night the mountains looked grand, those that are around Mount Hamilton are bare of vegetation but are now beginning to be covered with grass. In the day they are a deep blue, when the mist clears away, but last evening the setting sun shone full on them and made them a beautiful amethyst while the sky was rosy and all feathery with fleecy white clouds.

Well I'll close for this time, hoping you are all well and assuring you that I am and also your loving niece - where was my mind when I wrote that last - I mean I am your loving daughter,

Lucy Allabach
