He invited Winnifred Caldwell and Miss Ames, Mrs. Howard and me to come to his sister, Mrs. Elliott's and see them. We looked at pictures from seven till nearly half past ten and then next day I had to do about two hours study in one, but I was all right.

Friday afternoon, Minnie and I studied, went to the gym. and then in the evening helped some of the girls entertain some callers. You see Monday is a holiday so we studied Friday afternoon and now can play till Tuesday.

Yesterday morning we made buckles of pasteboard and gilded them, also covered some with tinfoil and put ribbon bows behind them for our slippers. I have pink and gold for mine and shall just wear my pink and cream dress and powder my hair. I sewed Minnie's dress on her. Clara Avery was in to have us try the effect of green silk draped on her white dress. She and Mary Martin had just washed their heads and divided their attention between drying them over the radiator and offering suggstions and helping.

We had a sort of pre-ball last night as many of the maidens were interested in trying their costumes. Some look so nice and others of course will look funny, but on the whole we anticipate a very nice time.
