Give Mrs. Hughes my best wishes for her rapid recovery.

The Mail and Times says Hattie Kirkham is coming.

I had a few words with Mr. Bannister today and I like him very much indeed and hope we may become quite well aquainted with the Des Moines boys.

Tuesday afternoon the freshman class had quite an interesting election of officers. There were only two candidates for President who were talked of at all and the class seemed to be in two factions. A Mr. Cruthers was elected and after that all the officers were elected by unanimous vote. Howard Trumbo was made first vice, Lucy Allabach second vice, Bonnie Buckhalter recording secretary, Delos M'gee corresponding secretary, Mr. Cotton treasurer and another meeting will be held to appoint historian, etc. Of course my office is more honor than anything else, but the election was quite flattering.

Last evening we indulged in dissipation. Mr. Metcalf, a San Francisco musician who comes down and gives music lessons to some of the students at the rate of four dollars an hour, gave us a concert.
