You do not seem to understand that we have no rules of actions whatever and we may do just as we please, restricted only by cricism and the sure fact that if we overstepped the bounds of propriety too far we should have to go. The cooking utensils are hardly silver lined, and the court is a myth except the one in the triangle and I have not felt disappointed.

About my knowledge I feel that my time has not been wasted and yet that what I know is but a drop in the bucket. We do not converse in German at all, only translate, as that is the College method. I think I begin to feel better about my lessons. One reason is I have dropped one study and feel easier about the amount, and about taking daily excercise. Well I guess I'll close with love to you all

I recieved your note last night. I was very much surprised and pained to hear of Uncle Peter's death and am anxious to hear more. I hope you will get my letter in time not to send the shoes.
