Sept. 1st 1918
Dearest Mother,
While I am sick today it is nothing
serious and yet it makes me long for thee more than
ever. I have always been able to take care of no 1 but
Mother is a comfort that there is only one place
to get it and that is home.
Did my picture ever come Nancy is to have it Mother
I told Mildred befor I left.
Give me some news of Dick's where abouts please, thy
last letter was so sweet and please make them
good and long for I need them very much. We have
been here 5 weeks nowand no change in program
so we will welcome a change very much. Madam Luerhouse's
husband returned from the front today and such rejoining
- his coat was in shreds, it seems that a
scrapnel shellburst near him and nearly put him
on the bum.
We had still another accident yesterdy a man
was hit in the back with a fragment from a
grenade.
