4th. mo. 1868.

2nd 6 Bob and Ned Hopkins commenced
picking up stone off of the grass after
dinner commenced shoveling in oats got
in two 2 1/2 acres

3rd 7 Rain

4th 8 Mother and Father went to Baltimore
Bob hawled in fodder I helped George Bowen
Nail on rails on a garden fence, in eve I
hawled lumber from the mill.

5th 9 I went to laurel after 19.00 pounds of
Peruvian guano. George and Bob at the pailings
The heifer Molly fresh.

6th 10 I went to Washington with a beef cow had
to bring her back Rained all day Mother
returned from Balto

7th 11 George at work at pailings Bob and self sheled
corn and hawled two saw logs to the mill and brought
the lumber back.

2nd 13 In the last 24 hours there has been a fall
of fifty [8?] in the thermometer the mercury this
morning being down to twenty three, the ground
covered with snow, took one log to mill on the
sled and two on the wagon. Geo & Evan
at the garden palings
