8th month 1869

2nd 30 Father at work in the road Ben & I
moved Uncle Asas horse power and
set it near the cidar mill after dinner
Griffith Search made cidar & I helped
him till 5.30 PM when Genie Charlie
and self went to Edwd Thomases after
Chickens. Ben hawled wood

3rd 31 Ben & self hawled rails & fixed up fense
below big poplar. then went to Willie
Bonds got load of Apples. Father fixed
up fense around cidar mill.
After dinner we made cidar 2 1/2 Bbls

9th month 1869

4th 1st Ben & self hawled out manure from shed
back of stable till 11 AM. when I got
ready to go to Laurel. at 12 N I started
with the baggage of Mrs James. she &
her husband started soon after and left
L in she 2.30 PM train. Found Capt
Boutelle his wife, daughter two sons &
three servants here when I returned.
After tea I took a short ride with
Hellin.

5th 2 At 9AM 13 of us in 3 vehicles started to
the fair at Rock Ville got there at 11.30
AM. found many there that we knew
at 3 PM the horse racing commenced
which lasted untill we left. Saw
Mr Phil Dandridge.
