7] Federation Chairman - Lena Weld - reported several communications relating to maple syrup - movies - radio talks - suggestions for early spring gardens, etc.

The Secretary was asked to answer the letter about Jury Service for Women - Letter from chairman of Public Welfare in State Federation was approved - and the chairman (Stella Moore) assured that the Association will co-operate in the work.

A questionnaire was postponed for another meeting.

New Business - no report from Council - Secretary reported there are 35 members on average attendance for the past years of 22 1/2 members - 2 with perfect attendance.

The meeting adjourned.

Community House 2-5-1931 880th Meeting

The 880th meeting of the Mutual Improvement Association was unique in that it had no hostess – but the committee decided it best to hold a meeting rather than drop it on account of the inconvenience to the next in line.

A box luncheon was in order about half past twelve o’clock – and at two o’clock the meeting was called to order by Estelle Moore.

Naturally these were no minutes of a previous meeting of this kind. The minutes of the last meeting were read and accepted.

2] the dues to the Maryland Federation of Women’s Clubs $6.00 had been paid – with 11.25 in the Social Service League Fund. The report was accepted.

The next meeting place “Rose Hill” with Rose Gilpin at the regular time.

There being no hostess there was no sentiment from her but the secretary provided the following from the Cheerful Cherub.

“One little corner of the world Is mine to live in and make bright Although it may seem small to you It’s quite a job to fill it right.”
