Beautiful weather early
this morning. But clouded over-
before noon and before sunset
it was raining, with the
wind still from [Dr. W.] and it
is still very cloudy [and drizzling]
at bedtime. I went to
the store this morning, called
to see [Old Mrs Oldfield.]
Afternoon, I rode to Ashton
with Wallace [Bond and] walked
home. Went to [Hendersons]
for the papers. After supper
I went to the toll house and
to Fairalls office. He and
[F Downey] had been over at
Damascus and had just returned.

Another beautiful spring like
morning. Edward was quite un-
well this morning. Suffering
with pain in the stomach and bowells
and some nausia; he remained
upstairs (in our room) until
dinner time: after taking
some medicine he seemed
better [and] came down. I went
to meeting [and] heard a sermon
from _ Farquhar. Afternoon
walked up to the village [and]
met [Dr W_ Ma_ruder] by the
road, we had quite a long
talk. I went on as far as
Fairalls office where I called
and smoked a pipe with him.
