Sun. July 26th, 1896.
Went to meeting & heard an
excellent sermon from Edwd. Farquhar
he warned against personal
animosities growing out of differences
of opinion in national
affairs. Tom Stabler was here
before dinner. Afternoon Willie
& Edward rode over to "Riverside"
on bicycles. to have a "swim" in
the river, I loaned the horse &
buggy to the Robison boys to go
with them. Willie brought their
carriage from Ashton, where
it had been left for repairs.
After supper Fanny drove home
in the carriage & Willie went
on bicycles.
Wind. S.W. Clear. Ther. 72.
Mon. July 27th,1896.
This has been the hottest day
we have had since the "hot spell"
we had early in the season.
Tom Stabler came after breakfast
& rode with me to Ashton
& back. Fanny & Sophie Peirce
came & dined with us. Willie
also came. Miss Mary Colt &
Annie Chandler called.
Afternoon T Stabler went
to Riverside together with a
party to "go swimming". Edwd
went to "Norwood" after supper
to "protect" Mrs R Bentley Jr
and her mother. After supper.
About 8.o'clk in the evening,
we had the heaviest thunder
storm we have had this summer
from the N.W. the heaviest
of it went North of us,
but it was quite severe here.
