Wind. N.W. Clear. Ther.72
Tues.July 28th, 1896.

I hoped the severe electric storm
of last evening would have cooled
the air, but last night was one of
the most oppressively hot nights
we have had this summer.
I drove to Ashton and rode on horseback
to "Pen y Bryn" to see Alice Tyson
again having been called by telephone
Kate Stabler spent the morning here
with sister H. After dinner Willie
took Dora to "Fairfield" to go with
them from there to a "Lawn Party" at
Kate Janney's. Herbert came from
"Riverside" & took tea with
us. It has been very hot
again today, and towards
evening looked as though we
would have another thunder
gust, but it passed around to
the south of us. Mrs Robison
came in after supper and
spent the evening. Herbert
went back to "Riverside" after
supper.

Wind. Variable. Clear. Ther 73.
Wed. July 29th, 1896.

Another hot day. Willie brought
Dora home from Fairfield & Edwd
also came from there on his wheel.
Edwd & "Phil" Robison started in the
phaeton to examine the telephone wires
between here & Laurel, & to examine
& adjust some telephones in Laurel.
that are out of order since the storm.
Mr Chas. Hallowell called. Edward
& "Phil" reached home about dark,
they were caught in a thunder
storm and went on to "Frog Pond"
church & school house for shelter.
After they came, another storm
came up & lasted nearly all
night.
