Commenced raining sometime
before daylight this morning,
and has continued more or less
all day. Chas T. Hill was here
for advice & medicine for his
infant son again. John W.
Johnson was here quite early
this morning expecting to help
put the fodder roof on ice house
but the boys from next door
had put it on last evening after
"dusk" most fortunately, or our work
yesterday would have been all
undone again by the heavy rain
of last night & today. Afternoon
Chas Addison was here for advice
& medicine for Branson Cook's
child walked up to the P.O. and
down to Ashton. Mrs. Robison was
here this a.m. to see me about
Miss Mary again. Alcinda Hill

Wind. N.W. Clear. 29o
FRI. FEB. 14th, 1896

Wind changed to N.W. after midnight
last & blew "a gale" all day
today. Willie came on horseback
from "Fairfield". I was called by
telephone (from Hollands corner)
to go to see Branson Cook's child.
Willie hitched their horse "Sully"
to my phaeton & drove me over
to Branson's & home in time for
lunch. W. came to get some advice
& medicine for the "Fairfield"
folks, nearly all of whom
are suffering with "grippe" or
"bad colds" he went back after
lunch. I went to the store.
We killed our "turkey gobbler".
which had become too "saucy"
& pugnacious. This has been a
very blustering cold day. After
supper Edward went (with the
young people from next door) over
to Mrs. Ellicott's to spend the
evening. Mrs. Robison came in
for the news papers.
