Quite cool this morning & very pleasant
all day. Edwd & I went to meeting,
and heard a short sermon from a gentleman
a Mr [...], who is boarding at
Samuel Thoma's & is from Washington.
[Malclog?] Kirk's brought sister Harriet
home before dinner. Afternoon Edwd
drove over to "Riverside" & home to supper.
After supper I went up to Hendersons for
the papers. Lizzie Scott called after
dark for some medicine. Alice & Fanny
Peirce were here in the afternoon.

The weather is even cooler than yesterday,
a blanket being required on our bed
last night. I took the "surry" down to "Eut's"
& left it to have some of the [tires?] cut. Sister
H & Dora walked to Ashton & back before
dinner. Afternoon Edward drove to "Eldon"
after some crab apples that did not come.
Sister Lizzie spent the afternoon & took tea
here. Joseph Bond Jr was here to consult me
in regard to an injury to his left thigh caused
by a lineman's "climbing spur" which had
inflicted a punctured wound , in his falling from
a telephone pole. The boys next door borrowed
"Frank" horse to cultivate or plow their corn.
