Ther. 16° Sun. Feb. 5th, 1893 N.W. Wind

No wind this morning but cold,
the change in temperature being so
considerable and sudden. Alice
& Fanny Peirce came about 10.o'clk
this a.m. & Dora walked with
them to church at Mechanicsvville
returning here to dinner. I drove
their horse & carriage down to
Ashton to Mr Colts. "Phil" going
with me. Afternoon Dora went
home with Alice & Fanny to make
a visit. After supper Mr Colt
came for medicine for his
children.

Rain & Sleet
Ther. 30 Mon. Feb. 6, 1893 NE & SE Wind

It snowed, rained & sleeted
from about 11.o'clk last night, and
continued raining & sleeting all
day today. I drove down to Ashton
to see Mr Colts children. "Phil"
going with me. he brought the
horse & carriage back & drove
down for me again and went
again to take some medicine
&c. Jno: W Johnson was here
afternoon. Mr. Colt came for
me again towards dark and
took me down with him, and
brought me home after dark.
This has been an unusually
disagreeable day, ground covered
with sleet & ice making
it dangerous for "man or beast"
to travel besides being raw
& cold. I have felt unwell
all day, headache & pain in
my side & breast.
