January, Sunday 30th 1887.

Dull and "foggy" in the
morning. Afternoon Willie
started to take Dora & Nelly
to Edwd Peirce's in the carriage
but found the roads so bad
they returned after going as
far as just beyond B.N. Miller's.
Chas Palmer (the school teacher)
called. Susan Hopkins. (Emeline
Hopkin's daughter) was
here for advice & med:
Remus Hill Jr: also here to
see me about his father.

31o Clear N.W.
January, Monday 31st 1887.

This is the first bright day
we have had for sometime.
Albert Chandlee & his nephew
(Louis Pigeon) were here in the
afternoon to see me. I think
Albert seems slightly improved
since I saw him last.
Willie went to Riverside in the
spring wagon & brought home
some bundles of rye straw
with which to patch the
ice house roof .
